Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Review:
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Picking up where Dead Reckoning Part One left off, the film plunges Ethan and his IMF team into a race against time to stop "The Entity." This digital rogue artificial intelligence has the ability to infiltrate any system, predict and manipulate global events, and ultimately control the fate of humanity.
The stunt work is just absolutely thrilling, but the attempts to tie the story together from Mission Impossible 3, the rabbit's foot that triggers the chain of events leading to the rogue AI with the power to ignite global catastrophe, are a bit of a stretch with long explanatory dialogue for the audience.
I personally don't mind the long dialogue because I like details. I may not remember the entire Mission Impossible series, but I like to be reminded, and I remember some action pieces here and there when it shows the recap of past series, plus it increases anticipation of what is to come next.
However, the action sequence in the stunt makes up for the longer stretch time. There are two action sequences I remembered vividly: the submarine scene and the biplane chase. The submarine scene with no dialogue but with intense orchestral music playing in the background as Hunt navigates submerged underwater inside the submarine with danger lurking everywhere had me on the edge, wondering how he was going to get out of this.
The biplane chase also had me on the edge, with no dialogue but wonderfully crafted action sequences, as Hunt attempted to make his way from his plane to Gabriel's plane. I was wondering, how is he going to do that, and how is he going to get out of the situation?
The stakes are very high with no room for error. Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning is absolutely fun and thrilling to watch. The action sequences will definitely keep you on the edge, and you'll enjoy the thrill of your life.
