M3GAN 2.0 Synopsis:

Two years after an extraordinary artificial intelligence known as M3GAN turned rogue and went on a killing spree, its creator, Gemma, is now lobbying for increased government control over AI. Unbeknownst to her, a defense firm has developed a weapon for military use called Amelia, the pinnacle of covert spy technology. But as Amelia's self-awareness grows, she becomes less inclined to follow orders. Gemma resolves to bring M3GAN back to life, making it stronger, faster, and deadlier in the hopes of stopping Amelia.

"M3GAN 2.0" takes place two years after the first movie. Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a champion for artificial intelligence regulations, while her teenage niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), deals with her emotional scars and adjusts to living without technology. The return of M3GAN is triggered by the rise of AMELIA (Ivanna Sakhno), a military-level AI created using stolen M3GAN tech that has turned against humans and wants to take over the world with AI. This compels Gemma to unwillingly bring back and enhance M3GAN to fight the new danger.

The most noticeable feature of "M3GAN 2.0" is its clear change in genre. Many of the subtle scary scenes are missing, and they have been replaced with lots of exciting action scenes, fast chases, and even a jumpsuit scene similar to Mission: Impossible. For those who enjoy M3GAN's unique, funny, and self-aware style, the movie provides that, with M3GAN being just as witty and fun as before. Her new body lets her perform more complex fights and even stranger dance moves, which fans of the original will definitely appreciate.
